Allison Compton is a motivational speaker and Paralympic medalist. She's turned a disability into a platform to share her story and inspire others to believe that anything is possible if you work hard and believe in yourself. Compton was born with a femur that was underdeveloped, resulting in a right leg that was half the size of her left.
Her parents, who were distraught, had to choose between having her leg amputated from the hip down or having physicians conduct a difficult operation that would allow Compton to have more use and control of her limb. They realized they couldn't amputate Compton's foot after seeing her use it to support herself as a newborn.
