A producing team called Zeds Dead is made up of DC (Dylan Mamid) and Hooks (Zachary Rapp-Rovan). In 2004, the two started the hip-hop-focused Mass Productions, and three years later, they independently published the album, Fresh Beetz. In 2009, they changed to Zeds Dead, embracing house and the overtly aggressive aspect of dubstep.
2010 and 2011 saw an increase in their activity. They remixed songs by Blue Foundation and the Electric, released music on labels including Kissy Sell Out's San City High, Steve Aoki's Dim Mak, and Diplo's Mad Decent, and they also performed a lot of U.S. tour dates.
