Poet, educator, performer, and public speaker Yosimar Reyes. He is an artist in residence at Define America and a co-founder of La Maricolectiva, a community-based performance ensemble of gay, undocumented poets. His writing has appeared in a number of online journals, and after working with Carlos Santana, he self-published his first collection of poetry, For Colored Boys Who Speak Softly.
The documentary 2nd Verse: The Rebirth of Poetry featured Reyes, who has traveled and given presentations on college campuses across the country.
