Yanky Fachler, a historian and broadcaster, was born in the UK to parents who fled Nazi Germany as youths. He attended a yeshiva and spent several years living in Israel before relocating to Ireland after earning his BA and MA in London.
The Jewish Historical Society of Ireland, of which Yanky is the founder and head, participates in Ireland's annual Holocaust Memorial Day. Twelve volumes on the history of Zionism, the Irish Jewish community, and business have been written by him. Yanky has spoken before crowds in Ireland, the UK, Israel, the USA. the Czech Republic, and Poland.
