X-Ambassadors Biography

X Ambassadors had their start as a band called simply Ambassadors that toured alongside performers like LIGHTS. They made a music video for the album's first track, Tropisms, and self-released their debut EP, Ambassadors EP, during this period. Soon after the group's self-released debut album, Litost. To film a video for the first track Unconsolable, which would subsequently be re-recorded, the band launched a Kickstarter campaign. The title track from the album, Litost, as well as Unconsolable from the Love Songs Drug Songs EP, were subsequently used on the soundtrack for the film The Host. Dan Reynolds, the main vocalist of Imagine Dragons, requested that Interscope sign the group as quickly as possible after hearing an acoustic rendition of Unconsolable on a nearby radio station. 2013 saw the release of X Ambassadors' first big label EP, Love Songs Drug Songs. The song Stranger, which Dan Reynolds co-wrote, was featured on the EP. They went on tour in support of the EP, with Imagine Dragons, Jimmy Eat World, and The Mowglis. The Reason, the group's second EP on a big label, was released in 2014. X Ambassadors will accompany Panic! at the Disco and Imagine Dragons on their separate tours in support of the new EP. Interscope re-released The Reason EP with that tune, raising the EP's total number of new songs to six, following the success of their single Jungle with Jamie N Commons.
