Wendy L. Patrick is a career-preliminary attorney who was selected the Public Lawyer of the Year by the California State Bar Public Law Section and designated one of the Top Ten Criminal Lawyers in San Diego by the San Diego Daily Transcript. More than 160 preliminary examinations have been completed by Dr. Patrick, ranging from abhorrent wrongdoings to domestic abuse to first-degree murder. She manages situations with complex difficulties, such as hazard assessment, in her current position with the Special Operations Division. She is an ATAP Certified Threat Manager and the President of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP). Dr. Patrick's previous work in the Sex Crimes and Human Trafficking Division involved prosecuting violent predators, human traffickers, stalkers, assailants, and child molesters. She has acted in the capacity of co-chair of the human trafficking and sexual predators committees of the California District Attorneys Association at the state level. Dr. Patrick speaks to local groups, law authorization associations, and a wide range of legal and educational institutions both locally and globally about risk assessment, cutting-edge examination and use of online networking, the tactics of sexual stalkers and stalking, and how to increase public awareness and secure the network. Her Ph.D. dissertation focused on the brain science of fascination as applied by criminals and oppressors in the media, as well as how to spot the warning signs. She is a Certified Threat Manager by the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and an Institute of Criminal Investigation-approved teacher for law enforcement.
