Weijia Jiang is a prominent television journalist and Senior White House Correspondent for CBS News. Born in China, she immigrated to the United States at age two. Inspired by journalism at age 13 through a Channel One News student program, Jiang earned a BA in philosophy from the College of William & Mary in 2005 and an MS in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 2006. Her career progressed through local stations in Maryland and Baltimore before joining WCBS-TV in New York, where she covered major stories like Superstorm Sandy and the Sandy Hook shooting. She joined CBS News in 2015 and became White House Correspondent in 2018. Jiang gained international attention for her pointed questions to President Trump during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has won an Emmy and serves as the first woman-of-color president of the White House Correspondents' Association.
