Warwick Davis Biography

Warwick, an English on-screen character Davis was born in Epsom, Surrey, England, to a protection agent and his significant other. Davis was born with a disease called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia intrinsic (SED), which caused his dwarfism. He received his education at the City of London Freemen's School. When he was 11 years old, his grandmother heard a radio advertisement for people under four feet tall to appear in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983). Davis, a huge Star Wars enthusiast, tested out successfully and was cast as an extra as an Ewok. Kenny Baker was cast as the lead Ewok Wicket, but he fell ill, so George Lucas chose Davis to replace him. The film was a huge hit, and Davis went on to reprise his role as Wicket in two further TV movies, The Ewok Adventure (1984) and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985). (1985). Davis's next massive project came with a segment specifically written for him as the primary saint in Willow (1988). Other successes followed, including roles in projects like Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1989) and two notably distinctive film arrangements - the Harry Potter and Leprechaun film arrangements. In 2006, he appeared in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's blockbuster sitcom Extras (2005), prompting the pair to compose an arrangement just for Davis in the hilarious mockumentary Life's Too Short (2011). Davis, together with his father-in-law Peter Burroughs, is also the founder of Willow Management, an acting agency for extremely small and tall on-screen characters. He is married to Samantha Davis, and they have a son and a daughter."
