Victor Glover is a NASA astronaut, U.S. Navy Captain, and revered test pilot for the Artemis II mission. A native of Pomona, California, he earned a B.S. in General Engineering from Cal Poly and multiple master's degrees, including in flight test and systems engineering. Glover flew F/A-18 combat missions and served as a legislative fellow before NASA selected him in 2013. In 2020, he piloted SpaceX's first operational Crew Dragon mission (Crew-1) to the International Space Station, becoming the first Black astronaut to live aboard the ISS for 168 days and to conduct four spacewalks. In April 2026, he served as pilot of NASA's Artemis II mission, the first crewed flight of the Orion spacecraft, circling the Moon and traveling farther from Earth than any human since Apollo, making him the first Black person to fly to the Moon.
