Lyrical ambient electronic dance-pop is created by Troye Sivan. Sivan, a self-taught performer, started singing and acting at an early age, but his big break came in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine when he played a young Wolverine. He entered into a recording deal with EMI Australia in 2013, and a year later his third EP, TRXYE, was made available.
In Canada, New Zealand, and the US, the album reached the Top Ten. Sivan made a comeback in 2015 with the release of his fourth EP, WILD, which he referred to as the first taste of the music he would be releasing over the next months.
