Tanya M. Odom Biography

Tanya Odom, Ed.M. is a thought leader, worldwide consultant, facilitator, lecturer, author, and Executive Coach. She has designed and led hundreds of workshops on topics such as inclusive leadership, race/racism, gender equality, team building, mindfulness and well-being, innovation, educational equity, and girls' leadership development for adults, youth, corporate, not-for-profit, NGOs, law enforcement, and educational entities throughout the United States and the world. Tanya has traveled to, lived in, and/or worked in more than 30 countries. Tanya's diverse portfolio of experiences has allowed her to work with a variety of not-for-profit organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League, to maximize diversity and inclusion opportunities and create sustainable change for US and international corporations. Tanya's unique portfolio of experiences has also allowed her to work with homeless women and children living in temporary housing facilities. Tanya has taught graduate-level seminars on innovation, creativity, diversity, leadership, and team building at Georgetown University, Princeton University, and Manhattanville College. Evaluation in the Field of Education for Democracy, Human Rights, and Tolerance is her co-authored book. Tanya is a Huffington Post contributor who has published articles about diversity, leadership, self-compassion, and mindfulness. Tanya's work has also been featured in Diversity Woman Magazine and CNN.com. Diversity Best Practices called Tanya "A Diversity Thought Leader to Follow on Twitter." Tanya relates mindfulness research and practice to leadership, teams, and the mitigation of unconscious bias in her work with individuals and groups as a mindfulness practitioner. Tanya is the first female Co-Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Townsend Harris High School Alumni Association. Tanya is also a member of Wall Street in the Black Advisory Board. Tanya is a Center for Creative Leadership-trained Executive Coach with a Harvard University Ed.M. in Education and a Vassar College B.A. in Anthropology/ Sociology.
