Taika Waititi, also known as Taika Cohen, is of Te-Whanau-an Apanui (father) and Jewish (mother) descent and comes from the Raukokore region of the East Coast. He has been involved in the film industry for a long time, initially as an entertainer and now focusing on writing and directing.
