Peter Sagal is an American humorist, playwright, author, and radio host. He attended Harvard University, where he wrote for The Harvard Lampoon, and graduated magna cum laude in 1987 with a degree in English and American literature. After college, he worked briefly for a Chicago consulting firm before devoting himself to writing and comedy full-time.

Sagal is best known as the host of the National Public Radio (NPR) show Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!, a weekly news quiz program. He has been the host since 1998 and has won several awards for his work on the show, including the Peabody Award in 2008.
