A Person of Interest, her third book, was a 2009 PEN/Faulkner Award finalist. She was chosen to receive the PEN/W.G. Sebald Award for the first time in 2010.
My Education, her fourth book, won a Lammy Award in 2014. Her first children's book is Camp Tiger, and her fifth book is Trust Exercise (both due out in April 2019). (May 2019). She resides in Brooklyn and promotes fiction writing at Yale. She has received support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation.
