American space explorer Sunita Williams is also a United States Navy representative of Indo-Slovenian descent. She previously held the marks for the longest spacewalk time and the most complete spacewalks by a woman, both with seven (50 hours 40 minutes). Between Expedition 14 and Expedition 15, Williams was assigned as a person to the International Space Station.
She served as a stand-in flight engineer on Expedition 32 in 2012 and then as the expedition's administrator in 2013. In May 1987, Williams was charged as an ensign in the US Navy. She was given a basic diving officer position at the Naval Coastal System Command after a six-month temporary job there.
