Stephen Cave Biography

Stephen had his first child in Cornwall, England's lovely but windy southwest, when Stevie Wonder and Steely Dan ruled the charts. After ten years of contemplation and encouragement, he received his Ph.D. in transcendentalism from the University of Cambridge in 2001. Before dedicating himself to writing, Stephen made a respectable livelihood as a negotiator, establishing global arrangements for Her Majesty. Stephen has since written highlights and audits on a variety of philosophical moral and logical topics ranging from the human instinct to robot soldiers and basic entitlements. He writes regularly for the Financial Times and has also written for the New York Times, the Guardian, Wired, and other publications. He has appeared on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4, Deutschlandradio Kultur - Austriaischer Rundfunk, and other stations. In the spring of 2012, his internationally praised debut book, Immortality: The Quest to Live Forever and How It Drives Civilization, was released in English and several dialects. Stephen resides in Berlin with his wife, the writer Friederike von Tiesenhausen, and their multiple daughters. He speaks fluent German.
