Stanley Pignal

The Economist's Banking Editor, Stanley Pignal, is headquartered in London. He formerly covered hedge funds, private equity, insurance, and other institutional investors in his prior post as Finance Correspondent. He joined the Financial Times in October 2012, having previously covered the European Union from Brussels during the eurozone crisis before returning to London to write about private equity.

Mr Pignal also spent time in his home country of France covering the banking, retail, and luxury industries. Prior to joining the FT, Mr Pignal worked in corporate finance, analyzing energy investment options.
