Dr. Sheryl Heron is an Associate Professor and Associate Residency Director in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Emory University, as well as the Grady Campus's Assistant Dean for Medical Education and Student Affairs and the Center for Injury Control's Associate Director of Education and Training. She is a Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician.
She served on the board of the Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence and on the Dekalb County Domestic Violence Task Force. She collaborated with the Institute of Medicine on a paper on teaching health care providers about family violence. Heron is a former chair of the National Medical Association's Emergency Medicine Section.
