Sheinelle Jones is a top-flight journalist and longtime NBC News anchor. Born in Philadelphia, she graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Jones co-hosted “Good Day Philadelphia” for nearly a decade before joining NBC in 2014 as a co-anchor of “Weekend Today”. From 2019, she co-hosted the third hour of Today, then, in January 2026, became the permanent co-host of the fourth hour, “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle”, alongside former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager. In 2025, Jones faced the devastating loss of her husband, Uche Ojeh, to glioblastoma. During this difficult time, she was open about her journey, remaining strong for her three children and maintaining her career in the public eye. This experience transformed her understanding of resilience. This outlook also informs her work as executive producer of the Gracie Award–winning MSNBC documentary, “Stories We Tell: The Fertility Secret” (2021). Jones is also a New York Times bestselling author of “Through Mom’s Eyes” (2026).
