She goes by the name Shu-nye-ah and is a gorgeous Canadian pop diva who grew up in the mining community of Timmins. She worked closely with her Native American stepfather to plant trees as part of a forestry crew before pursuing a career in music.
Her family, relatively poor even by provincial Canadian standards, made remarkable sacrifices to support her early career. She started a career as the lead vocalist in various melodic compositions at the Deerhurst resort in northern Ontario. Later, she specialized in bluegrass music under the direction of Mary Bailey, a friend, and former performer.
