Scott Michael Foster was born in Winfield, Illinois, and then relocated to Highland Village, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, where he developed a passion for finishing school approximately a year early. He attended Collin College for one semester with a focus on acting but soon quit his studies to pursue a professional career in the field.
Encourage relocated to Los Angeles, California, and started working on foundations whenever he could. Jerry Seinfeld's agent from a related firm attended Foster's acting lesson and made a note of him six months later. Before getting minor roles in movies like "Everlastingly Charlie" and the NBC series "Quarterlife," he worked in voiceovers and commercials.
