Sayu Bhojwani founded South Asian Youth Action, a network-based organization in Queens, and served as temporary commissioner of immigrant affairs for New York City. She has acted as the founding and president of the New York City-based New American Leaders Project since 2010.
The Wall Street Journal and the New York Times have featured Bhojwani's attempt to create a complete vote-based system. She has written about her trip in The National and frequently writes to Medium and The Huffington Post. At Columbia University, where she studied for her Ph.D. in Politics and Education, Bhojwani focused on foreign political investment.
