Sampriti is a Ph.D. candidate in the Mechanical Engineering department at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she is studying underwater robots for nuclear reactor inspection. Sampriti, who is from a tiny institution in Kolkata, India, felt there needed to be more prospects for engineering research and innovation in her own country.
This inspired her to start the Lab-X Foundation to deliver a top-notch education to underdeveloped nations and offer practical engineering training to individuals with limited means. Sampriti has experience working with Fermilab NASA Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, among others. She also holds a master's degree in aerospace engineering and a bachelor's in electrical engineering.
