Sam Roberts Biography

Six albums have been released by Sam Roberts, a Canadian rock singer-songwriter who has been associated with Universal (Canada) since 2002. They released a self-titled EP as Northstar in 1998 while releasing a single as William in 1996. However, neither project received a significant record deal, and the group disbanded in 1999. Roberts started doing live performances after joining Secret Weapon Management. He earned a record deal with MapleMusic Records thanks to Linda Bush at Universal. The six-track EP was made from the demo and released. It had two groundbreaking singles, Brother Down and Didn't Walk Away Eileen, which received extensive marketing in Canada. After signing with Universal Music, he released his debut album, We Were Born in a Flame, in June 2003. The Canadian market saw success with the singles Where Have All the Good People Gone? and Hard Road.
