Sam Raimi is a film director, producer, and writer from the United States. He is well recognized for his work as a director of the Spider-Man movies. He studied English at Michigan State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree.
He teamed up with his brother's roommate Robert Tapert to collect money for a low-budget horror film while at Michigan State University. After the success of The Evil Dead, he began production on his second picture, Crimewave. Raimi went into other genres in the 1990s, directing films including A Simple Plan and For Love of the Game.
