Sadeaqua Scott, PhD Biography

Sadeaqua Scott, Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, is a scientist. She earned her Ph.D. at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, which is a university hospital immediately across the street from Kings County Hospital, where she was born. Dr. Scott has almost two decades of experience working in environmental, entomology, genetic, HIV, cancer, cardiovascular, and stem cell research labs. She just finished her senior postdoctoral researcher at the University of Miami, where she served as the main scientist on a phase I clinical trial evaluating the safety and effectiveness of mesenchymal stem cell infusion in patients with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. She is presently a member of the SUNY Downstate Medical Center's volunteer faculty. Dr. Scott has significant experience as a facilitator and lecturer in public speaking. She's delivered motivating and informative talks to kids in elementary, high school, college, and graduate school. She has delivered lectures to underprivileged communities about health and wellness based on both peer-reviewed and community-based participatory research as the CEO and founder of the non-profit organization Urban Health Science Initiative (UHSI). During her six years as director of the UHSI, she performed research on natural regenerative and anti-aging technologies, as well as the impact of the microbiome on cardiovascular health and lifespan. Dr. Scott has also collaborated on the curriculum creation for Susan L. Taylor, Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of Essence Magazine, and a team of specialists for her not-for-profit organization, The Risings, as well as acting as a guest lecturer on health and wellness issues. Dr. Scott has not only performed studies on health and wellness subjects, but she has also applied it to her own lifestyle. She has offered health research consultations to struggling vegans, omnivores, wellness experts, fitness trainers, and others having problems that physicians could not help with as a successful raw fruitarian for 2.5 years and a fruitarian (with cooked meals) for another 2 years. Her goal is to educate and equip people with the skills they need to reclaim their health and wellness using natural ways.
