D.J. Diplo and renowned producer Gilles Peterson Rye Rye, a rapper from Baltimore, debuted in 2008 with a lively style and some assistance from M.I.A. When a rap left on DJ Blaqstarr's answering machine led to a partnership, she was just 17 years old. She was introduced to the Mad Decent label, studio, and family via Blaqstarr, and she soon found herself working on a remix of M.I.A.'s Paper Planes and the Diplo tune Wassup Wassup. She began 2009 by appearing on the Bang soundtrack for Fast & Furious. In 2010, a video for a new song called Sunshine and tours with Die Antwoord and M.I.A. were released. Rye Rye stated that she had left N.E.E.T. Records in an interview in 2016. Rye Rye sang the film's theme song alongside Esthero and appeared in 21 Jump Street.
