Ryan Van Duzer Biography

Ryan Van Duzer leads the Travel Channel's exclusive online series Bike Tour of California Wineries, which follows his adventure across Sonoma County and Napa Valley, visiting wineries and sampling local food. Van Duzer is also one of the four hosts of Microbrew Madness, a show that travels around the United States in pursuit of the greatest microbrewers. Van Duzer may have appeared on Travel Channel before. In fact, it was with the network that he earned his first on-air job, recording parts for America's Scariest Halloween Attractions. He has had the chance to shoot, edit, and host short pieces for TravelChannel.com as a result of his job as a travel writer. Since then, he's worked as a producer on a variety of projects and has been on networks such as Discovery Channel, National Geographic, Current TV, and Men's Journal's video series Remote & Refined. When Van Duzer joined the Peace Corps and went to Honduras, he developed a passion for travel. It was one of the most fulfilling moments of his life, he adds. He chose to take the long route home at the end of his two years of duty. He biked 4,000 miles from Honduras to Boulder, Colorado, passing through hurricanes, hazardous towns, and mountains while meeting kind individuals. On other daring adventures, he experienced the globe from the seat of a bike, including trips from Maine to Key West and Vancouver, British Columbia, to Cabo, Mexico.
