Dr. Roy Richard Grinker is a cultural anthropologist who studies mental illness, stigma, autism, disability, and workplace diversity, equality, and inclusion. He's also the director of the George Washington University Institute for Ethnographic Research and the editor-in-chief of Anthropological Quarterly. Dr.
Grinker's research has taken him to the United States, South Korea, India, South Africa, Namibia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is the author of Unstrange Minds: Remapping the World of Autism, as well as Nobody's Normal: How Culture Created the Stigma of Mental Illness, which won an award.
