Roger Bootle is a well-known economist in the City of London. Roger is also a Specialist Adviser to the House of Commons Treasury Committee and an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, in addition to operating Capital Economics, which he started in 1999.
He was formerly the Group Chief Economist of HSBC and one of the Chancellor's panel of Independent Economic Advisers, the so-called "Wise Men," during the previous Conservative government. Roger and a team from Capital Economics earned the Wolfson Prize in Economics in 2012, the second most prestigious award in economics after the Nobel.
