Rex Tillerson is an American businessman and former government official. He is best known for his tenure as the CEO of ExxonMobil, one of the world's largest oil and gas companies, from 2006 to 2016. Tillerson began his career at ExxonMobil in 1975 as a production engineer. He worked his way up the corporate ladder, eventually becoming the CEO.
As CEO, he oversaw the company's operations in over 50 countries and managed a workforce of over 75,000 employees. In 2017, Tillerson was appointed the United States Secretary of State under President Donald Trump's administration. He served in this role until March 2018, when he was dismissed by President Trump via Twitter.
