Reid Wiseman is a retired NASA astronaut and former naval aviator. Wiseman earned a computer and systems engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and later earned a master's degree in systems engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He joined the Navy in 1997 and served as a pilot for over a decade, flying both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.

In 2009, NASA selected Wiseman as part of the astronaut group known as "The Chumps." He served as a flight engineer aboard the International Space Station (ISS) for Expedition 40/41 in 2014, where he spent 165 days in space.
