Read Montague is an American neuroscientist and popular science author. He is the director of the Human Neuroimaging Laboratory and the Computational Psychiatry Unit at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute. He is also a professor of physics at Virginia Tech and a professor of psychiatry and behavioral medicine at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
Montague's research focuses on computational neuroscience and how the human brain makes decisions, especially in social contexts. He has also explored the neuroscience of addiction, schizophrenia, and other mental disorders. His work has been published in numerous scientific journals and featured in popular media outlets such as NPR, The New York Times, and TED Talks.
