Ray Scott is a country music singer and songwriter. Scott grew up in a family of musicians and began performing in his teens. In the 1960s, he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in country music.
Scott's big break came in 1965 when he signed with Decca Records and released his first single, "Love Out Loud." The song made it to the Top 40 on the country charts, and he quickly followed it up with hits like "You're the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me" and "My Baby's Gone." Throughout the 1970s, Scott continued to record and tour, scoring several Top 10 hits, including "Gone at Last" and "High on a Hilltop." He also regularly appeared on television shows like Hee Haw and The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour.
