Neil Shubin is an American paleontologist, evolutionary biologist, and science communicator, best known for his discovery of Tiktaalik roseae. This 375-million-year-old fossil represents a transitional form between fish and early tetrapods. He is the Robert R. Bensley Professor of Organismal Biology and Anatomy at the University of Chicago and a prominent figure in evolutionary biology.
Shubin authored the best-selling book “Your Inner Fish” (2008), which explores the evolutionary connections between humans and other organisms, and he hosted the PBS series of the same name.
