Matthew Delmont is a distinguished American historian specializing in African American history, civil rights, and race in U.S. popular culture. He serves as the Sherman Fairchild Distinguished Professor of History and Frank J. Guarini Associate Dean of International Studies at Dartmouth College, where he joined in 2019 after teaching at Arizona State University and Scripps College.
A Guggenheim Fellow and National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholar, Delmont earned his B.A. from Harvard University and his MA/PhD from Brown University.
