Masha Lakisova (violin), 13, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, began playing the piano at the age of four. Masha began violin lessons with Larisa Zhizhin shortly after and is now a student of Drew Lecher and Grigory Kalinovsky.
Masha has played at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in New York, the Chicago Cultural Center, Ravinia's Bennett-Gordon Hall, and Northwestern University's Pick-Staiger Hall as a recipient of From the Top's Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist award. In November of 2013, she was the youngest finalist in the 7th International Louis Spohr Competition for Young Violinists.
