Masha Lakisova Biography

Masha Lakisova (violin), 13, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, began playing the piano at the age of four. Masha began violin lessons with Larisa Zhizhin shortly after and is now a student of Drew Lecher and Grigory Kalinovsky. Masha has played at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in New York, the Chicago Cultural Center, Ravinia's Bennett-Gordon Hall, and Northwestern University's Pick-Staiger Hall as a recipient of From the Top's Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist award. In November of 2013, she was the youngest finalist in the 7th International Louis Spohr Competition for Young Violinists. Masha is a member of the Piano Trio Royale and the concertmaster of the Midwest Young Artists Youth Symphony Orchestra. She enjoys listening to music, singing, finding new artists, traveling, reading, and playing the piano with her family and friends.
