Living his dreams and doing what he loves and resonates inside of him, Mark Horvath developed InvisiblePeople.TV to give a voice and face to homelessness, a life he’s very familiar with as he once lived among them. His work is very original and his creative use of social media is a standard for non-profit and corporate worlds. Mark Horvath's L.A. dream lifestyle as a successful TV executive had crashed by 1995. He was homeless and broke and living on Hollywood Boulevard. Horvath was able to leave the streets, start a thriving second career and purchase his own home with the help of the Los Angeles Dream Center. Then the housing sector crash hit and it affected Horvath badly, foreclosure set in, and Horvath found himself at square one. Horvath took to the streets and began filming the people living there. “It started off with $45, a camera, a laptop, YouTube and Twitter,” he says. The project became a series of simple interviews that serves as a startling snapshot of modern homelessness called InvisiblePeople.tv Horvath time is shared traveling the world filming for Invisible People and working as a counselor for Ascencia homeless shelter in Glendale. Through his life’s journey, He’s been able to use social media to assist those in need. In Baton Rouge, his followers donated to buy shoes for 50 kids who needed them to get to school. He helped create a farm in Arkansas which feeds 150 people a week. Mark was referred to as one of 11 Twitter activists you should follow by The Huffingtin Post. YouTube gave InvisiblePeople.TV massive exposure which allowed Horvath curate YouTubes homepage for a day. At Twitter, Inc., Mark was the first nonprofit to give a speech. Mark was trusted by Canadian Government to travel to 24 Canadian cities and help champion the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness in 2011.
