Maria Bakalova was born on 4 June 1996 in Burgas. She is a Bulgarian actress. Bakalova began her profession in acting in Bulgarian movies including 2018's Transgression and 2020's Last Call. She picked up worldwide consideration for her part as Tutar Sagdiyev in the 2020 mockumentary Borat Subsequent Movie film. . She started singing exercises and playing the flute around age six. Bakalova studied drama theater at the National School of Arts in Burgas. She studied dramatization at the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theater and Film Arts in Sofia, graduating in 2019.
