Lisa Belkin is a Yahoo News Senior National Correspondent who focuses on social problems in the United States. After nearly two years as the Senior Correspondent at the Huffington Post, where she covered and opined on life, work, and family, she joined Yahoo in 2014. Prior to joining HuffPost, she worked for The New York Times for over 30 years, most recently as a national reporter stationed in Houston. She was also a medical reporter for The New York Times Magazine, where she coined the phrase "the Opt-Out revolution" and her editors referred to her beat as "the social conscience of our times," and she was the creator of the Life's Work column and the Motherlode blog, where reviewers referred to her as "the next generation's Anna Quindlen."
