The novel "Such a Fun Age" was written by Kiley Reid. Reid relocated to Arkansas after being denied from all nine colleges she applied to obtain her master's degree, and began writing about her experiences babysitting in New York throughout her twenties before reapplying. She was admitted to the Iowa Writers' Workshop this time, where she received her MFA.
