Julie has been a resident of the Curtin electorate for over 26 years, but she grew up on a cherry and apple orchard in the Adelaide Hills. "I grew up on a farm with my parents, two sisters and a brother, my grandparents, 2 uncles and aunties, and 4 cousins." The work ethic was one of diligence.
Some of my earliest memories include picking fruit in the orchard, rounding up sheep, and assisting in the packing shed." She went to Basket Range Primary School and St Peter's Girls' School for secondary school, where she was Head Prefect in Year 12. Julie graduated from Adelaide University with a law degree in 1978.
