John DohertySpeaker and Booking Agent Information

In September of 2015, Doherty established his own restaurant, Blackbard, with a menu that offers innovative takes on classic food as well as fresh, locally sourced ingredients. With partners Mark and Kristen Zeff, he opened Chelsea Market in late 2017, where his distinctive farm-to-table favorites are complemented by a homewares and accessories shop.

Their common goal for a luxurious lifestyle is embodied through the Blackbarn store, cafe, and bar. Chef Doherty has also established the Heavenly Harvest Foundation to provide healthful, shelf-stable meals for families in need. Chef John Doherty has evolved from humble beginnings to become more than a chef/restaurateur: he is now a conduit for bringing light to others.

Doherty's admirable leadership abilities were crucial to the success of The Waldorf's culinary operations, which generate more than $100 million in annual sales and are responsible for cuisine at some of the country's most prestigious galas, events, and fundraisers; 24-hour room service; and 3 separate, productive restaurants, Peacock Alley, Bull and Bear, and Oscilla.

At The Chef's Table, a PBS program has focused on Doherty's Chef's Table, and Doherty has been on several Travel Channel, A&E, and Food Network shows. Other appearances on television include The Today Show, CBS, CW11, and a number of regional stations. He speaks at national culinary and hospitality institutions and industry events on a regular basis.

He is on the advisory boards of City Harvest in New York, the French Culinary Institute, and the Culinary Institute of America. He has received an honorary Doctorate from Johnson & Wales University, an honorary Masters's from the Culinary Institute of America, a Leadership Award from Niagara University, and the Silver Spoon Award from Food Arts Magazine.
