Jimmy Wayne is a recent foster child who has gone on to become an award-winning country music star. His lyrics and story highlight his effort to raise support for foster children. Stay Gone, Paper Angels, I Love You This Much, and Do You Believe Me Now are among Jimmy's songs, with the latter earning BMI's coveted Million-Air Award for getting one million radio spins in the United States. Jimmy toured with Brad Paisley in 2009 and recorded Sara Smile with Daryl Hall and John Oates, members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jimmy marched halfway through the United States (from Nashville to Phoenix) in 2010 to raise money for children who have aged out of the foster care system. Jimmy was instrumental in getting bills approved in California, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Ohio in 2012 that raised the age of foster care to 21. He published Walk to Beautiful: The Power of Love and a Homeless Kid Who Found the Way in 2014, a three-time New York Times bestselling book that has sold 100,000 copies in just 18 months. President George W. Bush presented him with the coveted Points of Light award in 2016. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters by William Woods University in 2017 and an honorary Doctorate in Fine Arts by Cal State University-San Marcos in 2018. Jimmy has appeared 223 times on the Grand Ole Opry. He now resides in Nashville and continues to sing, write books, and give keynote speeches on behalf of at-risk foster youth. Jimmy's third novel, Ruby the Foster Dog, was published on November 1, 2017, by Broadstreet Publishing, following Paper Angels (2011) and Walk To Beautiful (2014).
