Jeremy Hansen is a NASA astronaut, a Royal Canadian Air Force colonel, and a Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut. Raised in Ontario, after being born in London, he earned a B.S. in Space Science and an M.S. in Physics from the Royal Military College of Canada. A former fighter pilot, he was selected as a CSA astronaut in 2009. Hansen served as a CapCom for the International Space Station and led NASA astronaut training classes. In 2023, he was named mission specialist for NASA's Artemis II, the first crewed Orion flight around the Moon. Launched April 1, 2026, the mission lasted about 10 days, flying beyond low Earth orbit and looping the Moon. He became the first Canadian and first non-American to travel to the vicinity of the Moon.
