Jennifer King, the former head coach of the Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team in Charlotte, served as a coaching intern for Rivera with the Carolina Panthers the previous two summers and is now an assistant coach on the Dartmouth College football team.
Coach Ron Rivera of the Washington Redskins is in the process of hiring King, who would be the NFL's first full-time female African American coach. King, who attended Guilford College in North Carolina and played softball and basketball, also competed in the Women's Football Alliance, earning a national title with the New York Sharks.
