Jeffrey Rosen was the acting United States Attorney General from December 24, 2020, to January 20, 2021, under President Donald Trump. He previously held the position of Deputy Attorney General (2019–2020), the DOJ's second-ranking official, overseeing operations, major investigations, and policy. Before DOJ, Rosen was Deputy Secretary and General Counsel at the U.S.

Department of Transportation (2017–2019), and earlier General Counsel there (2003–2006) under George W. Bush. He spent much of his career as a senior partner at Kirkland & Ellis, handling regulatory and litigation matters. A graduate of Northwestern University and Harvard Law School, Rosen resisted post-2020 election pressure from Trump to investigate fraud claims or intervene, as testified before the Jan.
