Janelle Shane is an AI humorist who writes about the intersection between art and science. She is also a research scientist in optics. In April 2019 she gave a TED talk as part of TED2019. She also gave a TED talk titled AIWeirdness - How AI will impact your life at the Better by Design - CEO Summit.
Shane runs a blog called AIweirdness that is a collection of AI algorithms that try to imitate human datasets. Shane's humor blog AIweirdness.com looks at as she tells it the strange side of artificial intelligence. She started the blog when she was a PhD student in electrical engineering at the University of California San Diego.
