Jake Abel Biography

Jake Abel is an American model and actor who is known for playing Luke Castellan in the film adaptation of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and its sequel Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters.
In his late teens Jake made his acting debut in the Disney movie Go Figure in which he played Spencer a hockey coach who seems to have it in for the main character and makes her life difficult. In the same year he appeared in three episodes of the short-lived science-fiction show Threshold in which he played a young man gone evil due to a virus.
Since then he’s played a variety of roles going from the sweet boyfriend in Tru Loved to downright evil and disturbed in Angel of Death. He has guest-starred in shows such as Supernatural and Grey’s Anatomy.
In 2009 he landed the role of Luke Castellan in the first Percy Jackson movie: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The lightning Thief. The movie is the first adaption of a popular series of five books about Percy Jackson written by Rick Riordan. Jake reprised his role as Luke for the sequel: Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters which was released in 2013. In addition he starred in I am Number Four and can soon be seen in the movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s The Host as Ian O’Shea one of the main characters.
