J. Anthony Brown, a South Carolina native, began his comedic career in 1972 as a regular at an Atlanta comedy club. In 1989, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he worked as a staff writer for The Arsenio Hall Show. The Parenthood and Me and the Boys were among her later writing credits.
